About WBCR
Western Border Collie Rescue (WBCR) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Border Collies that have been abandoned or neglected in the Rocky Mountain region.
Our dogs are fostered in private homes with families and other pets. This allows them to become more socialized and gives us the time to get to know each foster dog and their specific needs. We strive to place our Border Collies in suitable forever homes, prioritizing the best match for each dog. Since its founding in 2003, WBCR has saved over 1,400 dogs, thanks to an extensive network of rescues, shelters, and animal-loving supporters like YOU. It truly takes a village! There are many ways to support WBCR's mission and help Border Collies in need
2025 Calendar
The 2025 WBCR wall calendar is available for purchase! Thank you to all our fosters, volunteers, and adopters who submitted pictures to this annual contest. We have amazing photographers and some photogenic alumni! Every purchase includes free shipping and all 100% of the proceeds go back into helping more dogs in need.
Guess Keaton’s Breeds Fundraiser
What breeds do you think Keaton has in him?
Donate through this fundraiser to make your guess and help us continue to rescue more border collies like Keaton!
There are a few things that have us wondering what breeds are in him?
1. He has rear dewclaws
2. Eating is his favorite time of day
3. He LOVES people and follows his foster parents around everywhere
4. He is 30 lbs at 4.5 months of age
What breeds do you think he has in him?
To Enter: Donate any amount on our Colorado Gives Day Fundraiser page (link to the right) and add your guess to the dedication or comment section.
The guess that comes the closest to the actual DNA results will win a $50 Boulder Barks gift card (boulderbarks.com)! If there are multiple correct guesses, then we will do a random drawing within those correct entries.
We have submitted a DNA test and will post results after they are returned (by 1/15/25).
Service Area
Most of our foster homes are located in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah, but our adoption area includes all the states immediately surrounding Colorado and Wyoming. Please keep in mind: you must be able to drive to meet the foster dog (we do not ship dogs or allow adoptions without meeting the dog first). Learn more about our Adoption Process.
GET INVOLVED
-
Adopt
Adopting a rescue dog can be an exciting addition to your family, and it also opens a foster home to save another life. Find out more about our approval process and fill out our application.
-
Donate
There are many ways you can help WBCR, even if you are unable to adopt or foster! WBCR is run by volunteers and operates on donations. We rely on contributions and adoption fees to cover the costs associated with rescuing, veterinary care, and behavioral support for the dogs in our program. Our volunteers are just as important! And if you are unable to volunteer or foster, your monetary support will help keep us moving forward.

Foster
WBCR is a foster-based rescue, which means all of our dogs are fostered in loving homes. Each foster home saves the life of a shelter dog, but it also saves the life of another dog by freeing up space at the shelter for a new dog in need. Learn more about fostering or submit a foster application.
